| This play needs to be brought to Belfast. The conflict in Northern Ireland is not over. This play will make people think! - Mike Mann | 14 May 12 | |
| I completely disagree with this review. I feel that the director has conducted too many experiments, none of which are fully achieved and as such results in a fragmented narrative. This is further confused by a stylised (awkward) acting style that lacks care and truth. This story is an important one and the production treatment is over worked. The script is far too poetic and has no arc. It also lacks clarity and does not help the audience care about characters. I am shocked that a reviewer is able to look past the importance (and first rule of a play) and that is to convey or communicate, move or educate. I left angry, clearly supported by a lack of claps and support. My advice, clean out the staging and devices used. The doors are pointless, the visuals distracting (okay it's a modern staging... But it does NOT work), the acting awkward. The only positive thing was the score. - Jay | 12 May 12 |
