| Although a little long (first half runs at a whopping 2 hurs!!), this is a powerful piece of the theatre performed excellently by a cast of four very talented performers. Martha's desperately sad admission of insecurity at the climax following such bitterness and nastiness is a credit to the talents of Barbara Marten who convinces on every level whilst Phillip Bretherton more than holds his own as Martha's husband. Joanne Froggatt and Michael Begley equally impress as the young married couple unwittingly embroiled in the feud between the older couple. Very very good! - M George | 22 Mar 07 |
