| It's relevant, worthwhile, highly entertaining and an evening of great acting of the highest order. The monosylabic one star reviewer probably objected to seeing himself as one of the objects of scorn so vividly identified on stage. | Having read Stephen Gilchrist's review there is little that I would wish to add save that the message is so aposite to today's world I believe that this play (with this cast) should be performed on the London Stage in order that a wider audience could benefit. | A happy and philosophical play pleading for religious tolerance. Lessing chose a Siegried-like figure to get the German audience of 1770 on-board and then double-crosses them. There are many engaging characters, Rachel the wise Jew's daughter (Kay Curram)and Sittah Saladin's sister (Noma Dumezweni) are particularly well played but it is Nathan himself (Michael Feast) who enthrals.
