| This is a must-see indeed! A deeply moving story of humanity, brought to life with a perfect cast. Especially as a counterbalance to The Merchant Of Venice, staging this drama was very good choice. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.143.53.213) | 12 Aug 03 | |
| A fantastic evening in the theatre. All the performances were exceptional - especially Michael Feast - he should win an award for this. Absolutely not to be missed! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.93.50.14) | 07 Jul 03 | |
| It's relevant, worthwhile, highly entertaining and an evening of great acting of the highest order. The monosylabic one star reviewer probably objected to seeing himself as one of the objects of scorn so vividly identified on stage. A great evening that left me uplifted. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (217.42.73.112) | 22 Jun 03 | |
| Somebody didn't like the message of tolerance (the two one-star votes). I cannot believe that this is anything other than attempted sabotage. The play was wonderful and entertaining and left the audience buzzing. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (193.118.203.3) | 29 May 03 | |
| i was appalled by the lack of conviction in this performance, i felt that Nathan came across as a homosexual - USER: Whatsonstage.com (81.131.119.65) | 28 May 03 | |

| Having read Stephen Gilchrist's review there is little that I would wish to add save that the message is so aposite to today's world I believe that this play (with this cast) should be performed on the London Stage in order that a wider audience could benefit. Perhaps even the BBC or another national television station might consider it for inclusion in their next schedule. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (81.135.100.81) | 06 May 03 | |
| Bursting with humanity and compassion. Should be made compulsory viewing. By the way the Jonathan Cullen didn't play the Knight Templar, as WOS's careless reviewer maintains. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (193.122.47.170) | 03 May 03 | |
| A happy and philosophical play pleading for religious tolerance. Lessing chose a Siegried-like figure to get the German audience of 1770 on-board and then double-crosses them. There are many engaging characters, Rachel the wise Jew's daughter (Kay Curram)and Sittah Saladin's sister (Noma Dumezweni) are particularly well played but it is Nathan himself (Michael Feast) who enthrals. Dont miss this theatrical treat. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (193.118.203.3) | 02 May 03 |
