| A gem of a play, and I was delighted to read that it was returning to the West End. The acting is wonderful. As Clare Higgins says, a lot happens in the silences. It's a great cast, and I love the comic relief supplied by Emma Handy as Vincent's blunt, cleaning-obsessed sister, but I miss Paul Nicholls as lodger, Sam. The night, undoubtedly, belongs to Clare Higgins, who must be one of the best actresses on the London stage at the moment. Andrew B - USER: Whatsonstage.com (193.130.127.205) | 11 Aug 03 | |
| One of the great evenings of 2002 is back! A fascinating play, staged to perfection by god himself (Sir Richard Eyre) with towering performances from Clare Higgins (previously Britain's most underrated actress) and the Dutchman whose name escapes me (sorry!). A gem ! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (212.211.106.23) | 15 Jul 03 |
