starstarstarstarI went to see the House of Atreus last night, the performance is still fresh in my mind and I feel compelled to write a few words of praise for it. I’m far from being a regular theatre-goer and I’ve never seen a Greek tragedy on stage before. I didn’t even know the story of House of Atreus when I went in but was quickly drawn in by the action and was soon immersed in a completely different world. The acting was superb and I thought the big fight scene was really well done, very convincing! The set design was pretty minimal (mostly beige wallhangings) but it made for a lowkey backdrop for a stunning kimono-style robe worn by one of the main characters. In short, I enjoyed the performance and went away still thinking about some of the themes . - L Chatto11 Jan 13
