starstarstarstarIt really worked. This production sends up the man's man stereotype (here Petruchio)and does it really well. I would single out Biondello (Liza Hayden) as particularly good. Kathryn Hunter was a little too monkey-faced and small to project Kate's physical attractiveness but emphasised the shrewishness very well. Janet McTeer was marvellous as the rollicking Petruchio. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (193.118.203.3)15 Sep 03
starstarstarstarGreat good fun with an astoundingly brave, hilarious performance by Janet McTeer. Would all Shakespeare everywhere be fueled by so much energy! Take your kids, they'll learn they can have a good time and still understand the poetry of Shakespeare. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (212.228.52.238)09 Sep 03
