| Starts very well and then completely gets derailed into 6th Form standard silliness. Second half a bit better but considering how atmospheric the venue is, this is a real wasted opportunity. - addicted to theatre | 23 Oct 10 | |
| I think due to the location and history it could have been quite a lot better. Since the bar is the waiting area and with a bit of stage dressing and perhaps in-character staff, it could have tied it together better. The idea was better than the reality and if it was'nt for the switch off phone performance, I may have got distracted and played scary noises using the free wifi... won't be rushing for early bird tickets - rich | 18 Oct 10 | |
| This year's production was weaker than last year's with a more cabaret feel owing a gothic belly dancer (?!), 1st year Theatre student level extras wearing plastic bags on their heads and strobe lighting. I know this isn't high-end theatre but is this really the best writing and performance Southwark Playhouse could muster? Not particularly scary, not particularly entertaining and not a particularly credible production. Sorry, I really wanted to like it. - Anna | 18 Oct 10 | |
| I enjoyed this much more than last year's Terror season, a welcome change for me at least to have material that was more thoughtful in its exploration of horror and less out for a kneejerk reaction. And where else can you see 4 contrasting shorts by great writers at fringe prices? - Arthur | 17 Oct 10 | |
| I don't see what the thought behind this was? Was the brief to come up with the worst horror stories you could? Cheap production values with more authentic gore and make up from the street vendors outside the London Dungeons up the road - James | 17 Oct 10 | |
| Enter into the experience as one of a team of volunteers to work with families, youth or drug rehab and you find yourself caught up in the lives of families living in this cut off area of London. Once the characters are introduced through a short series of interviews that we are witness to we are plunged into the underworld as head off into the vaults and witness site specific scenes in which we are invited to comment and make suggestions. A unique piece of well researched and written interactive theatre. - Dave J | 15 Apr 10 |
