starstarstarJack Frost Christmas Show. For under £60 2 adults and 3 children this was billed as a cross between a musical and a pantomine. I was surprised to find only 6 performers plus the muscians, no set, backdrop, curtain etc all very amateur dramatics. The show was about Jack Frost son and Father xmas daughter trying to save christmas by returning the snow to the northpole. I didnt like that although he is mentioned in most scenes there was no father christmas, also he is portrayed in a very negative way which was uncomfortable at times. I was also disappointed that despite the whole show building to the return of the snow, the snow machine that was on stage throughout did not as expected blast snow into the audience. This would have made a great finale, such a missed opportunity. The cafe downstairs was nice but the notice there stating ice cream available upstairs was not accurate. No ice cream anywhere available at the interval. Good toilet facilities. Lots of pictures showing the renovation process. If you are attending a performance at this venue dont expect a big west end production then you wont be disappointed. The following day we popped into the cafe at 1:30pm for lunch, the doors were open, lights were on, staff present. As we approaced the counter someone turned all the lights off and said closed until 2pm. How ridiculous to be closed at lunchtime and turn away 5 paying customers. - debrazebra03 Jan 13
