| Only 2 stars as I felt what was on show was rubbish - sort of university drama department effort but, and it's a big but, it does have potential. There was too much of a Andy Nyman's irritating professor Goodman to start with and too few scary bits. However, it did make me think why someone else hasn't tried this idea before, The Woman In Black excepted. With a major rewrite, lots more scary bits, then I would not be surprised if a run in the West End would not be out of the question. Oh, and why the Jewish thing? That should be dropped for starters. But apart from that I wish them all good luck their original piece of theatre. - rds | 08 Apr 10 | |
| I Disagree with the WOS reviewer. I found this a visually stunning, well conceived piece of theatre that brought to life an Indian fable of which I was previously unaware. I felt that all concerned did justice to such an epic tale with warmth, humour but also a poigniancy that had me rooting for the good charactors and (mentally) booing the evil ones. There are elements of pantomine in the show, which should probably have been a bad thing but wasn't. Note the version of the show I saw had been altered from that originally seen as the actor Paul Sharma was injured in a fall on stage and the piece was reworked to get around this. A great night of theatre that can hopefully can rekindle the faith of jaded theatre goers. - David Archer | 27 Mar 07 | |
| Unusual for David Farr, this is DULL DULL DULL. There seems to be so much story to pack in, that everyone forgot the need to make it entertaining. Gareth - Gareth James | 28 Feb 07 |
