| Sorry - should have been 4-stars but the prblems posting. - David | 12 Jun 08 | |
| Phil Jupitus, one of Leigh-on-Sea's finest, Stars as Colin the Lifecoach, otherwise known as someone who was not good enough at his own job so now charges a fortune to tell others how they should do it (you can tell I've met a few Colins in my time). His less than willing client is Wendy, superbly played by Wendy Darcy, a girl so lacking in self esteem she is virtually catatonic. The reason for her victim status and the outcome are all too predictable but there is a great deal of fun along the way at the expense of the self-help industry. I'm writing this whilst waiting to see Contractions which has a similar office-based format - has anyone thought of staging these two short plays as a double bill? - David Baxter | 12 Jun 08 | |
| The very intimate space is initially slightly unnerving but Lifecoach is an enjoyable and at 75 minutes, not overlong, comedy/drama. Amy Darcy is excellent and Phill Jupitus does a good job in a 'straight' role. - houndtang | 31 May 08 |
