 | Disappointing. Thought the puppetry was poorly executed and the writing manipulative. The roles of the female interpreters and how they were directed to me seemed quite sexist. I respect SS work however this one was dull, devoid of emotion or strong writers conviction. - Anne Riley | 17 Feb 12 |
| After 5 minutes I looked longingly towards the exit, it went downhill from there. The puppet show was puerile and crude, the sort of thing you'd expect from a 12 yr old boy, the live action was devoid of any dramatic tension, punctuated by far too many irritating (and unnecessary) scene changes featuring grating music, a poorly written script and un-inspired direction. On leaving the theatre we tried to think of anything positive to say about the play and the best we could come up with was that it was ten minutes shorter than the advertised running time and the marketing leaflet was very well written. I was really surprised that this was on at the Hampstead Theatre which has in my experience had excellent productions. - Phil M | 30 Jan 12 |
