| This show was amazing. Brian Conley was fantastic and Scarlett Strallen was superb. Full of great music and the sets are very inventive and effective. Loved the barber shop singing! Hope it transfers to the West End because I'll definitely see it. - nkent | 30 Aug 08 | |
| So So! Brian Conley is best engaging with his audience than trying to act in front of them. I have never been to a performance when the audience, at the very first moment of the curtain call, broke into spontaneous synchronised applause which they did the night I went. I am fortuante enough to have a copy of a "Broadway's Lost Treasures" DVD with Robert Preston singing "Ya Got Trouble". He is sensational! The electricity he gives out could run River City, Iowa for a year! Unfortunately, not so Mr Conley whose pedestrian performance is no match for Mr Preston's. The show tried to get going, but clumped back down to the stage too often. Not a great effort then - better luck next time? Well if they do try again they'd better get an actor singer to play the lead instead of an "entertainer"! - rds | 25 Aug 08 |
