| Not up to the usual quirky, off-the-wall Kneehigh productions. Voices drowned by too loud live musicians. Improved in the second half, but overall disappointing. - Sue Edmond | 25 Feb 11 | |
| Dire evening!! At least the half I ENDURED!! Banal/ Trite -and as for the male lead!!!????least said better!! - Malcolm | 23 Feb 11 | |
| Les Parapluies de Cherbourg is one of my favourite films but, unfortunately, the romanticism of the French does not translate well into the mundanity of the English. The last ten minutes lived up to the emotional charge of the film but it's a slow ride to get there. I was disappointed that the great lyricist Sheldon Harnick couldn't do more to lift the English translation above an almost word for word French to English transposition without injecting some poetry. And as for the addition of Meow Meow, not sure what that's all about? It's like she's in a different show, albeit a fairly amusing one. A good cast, but a disappointing show. - Allan | 19 Feb 11 | |
| I cannot understand how a previous reviewer scored one star. I was not sure what to expect as I am not a great musicals fan but this was not a conventional musical. The more the performance went on the more it drew you in with the skill of the actors and musicians, the ingenuity of the design and the clever way that one scene folded into another. I hope it is really successful in London and I feel sure it will be. - Simon Ward | 19 Feb 11 | |
| Terrible performance. - Jane | 14 Feb 11 | |
