starstarstarstarstarThe Best Show that I have seen for years, well acted and well sung. A very Enjoyable 2 hours!!!!!!! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.92.168.171)17 Aug 03
starThis is a musical comedy? I didn't notice. This is a musical turkey. Michael Cormick is a great talent but this show really is poorly done from any perspective. Toyah uses three different dialects, blows the one good song in the show, Secret Love, and the overall choreography is a laugher. Pass on this one, even at reduced prices. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (168.16.205.207)01 Aug 03
starstarstarstarstarMuch better than most of these miserable buggers below say,if they dont like musical comedy ,Why buy a ticket as with this show???? ,you get what it says on the lid and the show is an enjoyable couple of hours much better than the mess that is Our House the snobbery towards Toyah on here is disgusting. A great show. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (64.12.97.13)28 Jul 03
starSadly, Jane is indeed a Calamity. Don't bother. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (81.107.229.97)22 Jul 03
starA dated show with very little to redeem it. Toyah tries to compensate for her lack of vocal range by throwing herself around the stage. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (213.0.177.169)21 Jul 03
starRecently saw this on my annual trip to London and was quite disappointed. I can't quite figure out why this dated musical was brought back to life. The music is not really memorable, the story is not contemporary, and the choreography for his production is absolutely dreadful. Quite frankly, the only attempt at modernization was to have the chorus girls grab the crotch of the male dancers and jokes like "you can't make a pussycat out of a polecat" are comical only in their lameness. I felt sorry for the cast as they tried their best but this revival needs to be re-buried. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (168.16.205.207)10 Jul 03
starno 'star' who can sing ! in the lead leaves a large hole. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (217.13.129.151)07 Jul 03
starstarstarstarSaw show last night and simply thought it was spellbounding, however I do not feel that Toyah's voice is a voice of a leading role in the west end but I think that the two stars of the show are Katie Brown and Wild Bill Hickok who both have the most amazing voices. Can recommend this show for light entertainment but I can't see it lasting very long in the west end. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.93.50.14)05 Jul 03
starYUCK!! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.224.214.178)03 Jul 03
starstarstarWho is letting shows like this on in the West End? ANy ex Really Useful Group employee by any chance!!!! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.92.198.71)02 Jul 03
starstarI pretty much agree with this site's review. The fact is that Toyah Wilcox cannot sing. She has neither the power nor the diction in her voice to sustain a West End leading role and (dare I say it?) her lisp is unfortunate considering her "tough tomboy" role in this production. Michael Cormick was great as Wild Bill with a rich powerful baritone but was not, unfortunately, enough to rescue or redeem it for me, could not recommend it and predict and early end to its run in the West End. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.49.218.122)01 Jul 03
starstarGreat looking show, I think some lovely lighting and very good staging BUT in Calamity the life and vigor is plenty but sorry there is just no voice, a real let down. Saved by Wild Bill and the two supporting ladies. Great on the road maybe but no West End show, sorry. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (217.13.129.151)30 Jun 03
starstarstarstarstarThe Reveiwers are wrong,Calamity is great Michael Cormick is great and what a voice. The set is no worse than Sexual Rubbish in Chicago and works well for this show and that show dosent have the very atrractive Toyah Wilcox who works her butt off and sings fine and many who hate this whom I read on another web board are out of work actors and musical directors that are a bit jealous I think. But make up your own mind and dont think you will be disappointed. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (205.188.209.140)30 Jun 03
