starstarstarstarstarThis is the best show I have ever seen, it was EXCELLENT!! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (82.37.91.16)16 Sep 04
starstarstarstarstarJerome Flynn has got Tommy Cooper down to a T. Watching it, I forgot how funny he was, often although he didn't really do that much. And some of the jokes were in line for their pension, but the audience were in fits. It is a long time since I came out of a theatre with my sides hurting. Jerome Flynn was also very good at reacting when someone in the audience chuckled very loudly or at the wrong point. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (129.227.139.55)13 Sep 04
starstarstarstarstarAt times, I forgot that it was not Tommy Cooper on stage. Jerome looked like him, sounded like him, and had the tricks and delaying tactics off pat. I laughed my way through the show - and am still smiling now at the thought of it. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.252.0.10)24 Aug 04
starAvoid Avoid Avoid,Truly awful show and Tommy's act which I saw live many times was head and shoulders above this tripe, poor man will be turning in his Fez! Great news that it is being put to bed in 2 weeks! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (217.36.117.39)19 Jul 03
starstarstarstarI thought Jerome Flynn played Tommy Cooper brillantly and judging by the laughter from the rest of the audience I wasn't alone in this thought. He had us in stitches. If you enjoyed Tommy Cooper then you'll enjoy this. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (193.111.25.20)16 Jul 03
starstarstarstarstarNot to be missed!! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (82.37.89.185)15 Jul 03
starstarstarstarYour reviewer is very harsh and the review does not reflect the opinion of the audience when I saw the show. It is a throughly enjoyable show, well done. Suspect attitude depends on age. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.64.142.229)20 Jun 03
starstarstarstarNot really a play in the conventional sense - a lot of it is a straight-forward (but very well acted) stand-up comedy routine. At any rate, Jerome Flynn puts in an impressive performance as Tommy Cooper. He's got the tricks right (or wrong!) and the mannerisms, and almost gets the voice. Still, the audience absolutely loved it - especially one or two couples in the Dress Circle - and rewarded Flynn with a standing ovation. Andrew B - USER: Whatsonstage.com (193.130.127.205)09 Jun 03

starstarstarstarstarWithin minutes of the show starting the tears (of laughter!) were streaming down my face. At times I had to remind myself that it was not the real Tommy on stage (and I was lucky enough to see him in cabaret)! We all enjoyed the production immensely and I would recommend it to all Tommy fans. I thought that Jerome performed that magic very well, both the cock-ups and the real tricks. What really impressed us was the way he intereacted with the audience, There is no way that he could have learned all of Tommy's ad libs, but every one he did was so typically Tommy. Very impressive. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.92.67.71)20 May 03
starstarstarstarstarI saw the show in Malvern.Jerome was absolutely superb as Tommy Cooper. He managed the magic tricks really well, and like Tommy, he even got some right! Jerome had excellent timing and was a natural in the role. Did your reporter actually go to the show? - USER: Whatsonstage.com (62.64.141.251)18 Apr 03
starAt Malvern prices maybe...But for £37.50 Forget it! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (205.188.209.141)17 Apr 03
starI didn't think they allowed crap like this to be produced on the West End! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (12.103.239.82)15 Apr 03
starstarstarstarstarA fantastic impersonation of the great man himself. The "magic" was wonderful and the dressing room scene provided a sufficient amount of pathos although the script was weak in places. Excellent direction from Simon Callow who happened to place himself in the row behind on the night I went and his distinctive hearty laugh could be heard several times. Well done! - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.13.76.108)15 Apr 03

starJust dire! I know humour's a personal thing, but Tommy Cooper must have been better than this to have warranted a show to be built around his memory. This one makes you wish they'd forgotten. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (172.182.43.27)09 Apr 03
