| This was certainly a colourful piece from the cutout storybook set to the pastel costumes. The predominantly young cast worked very hard dancing, singing and playing their own musical instruments. Sadly, the material they had to work with was dated and tiresome. Many of the 'jokes' fell flat and the songs were twee and repetitive. This was not helped by the poor sound. Star billing went to Vicki Michelle who wasn't as strong a performer as several of those further down the cast list. Strictly for nostalgia fans only. - 81.86.184.44) | 28 Apr 05 | |
| I agree, sound man was awful - but dancing and singing were great (specially the leads) - costumes were fantastic but why let it all down with inadequate sound. First act had tightest scenes. motorbike was used most effectively. Not sure that starting the show before the overture worked - perhaps this will be altered before it goes much further Strong casting and prettily presented Looking forward to seeing it again - later on. Well worth extending the run - 80.65.242.243) | 25 Apr 05 |
