| Well I am sorry this is badly in need of a BIG cut. 3 hours is just too long. The scenes went on and on and the film clips are not funny and also drag. We wait foever in act one to get to the first number. I liked Adam but not the best singer so found this role much harder to fill than the success he made of last summers hit On Your Toes. All the rest of the support were fine and woking very hard. Josefina Gabrielle stands out, great! Over all this show has a very bad design and I think this is where the problem lies, it is dull almost and never changes from a sky backdrop - so the street scene and Don's house for Good Morning are non existent! There is rain a plenty and Adam enjoys it but again the design leaves no props to help him. Sorry this is not the big summer West End musical we had all hoped for. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (217.13.129.151) | 04 Aug 04 | |
| After the film I found this very tame and plodding. Where is the lightness of touch and the sheer vitality that should make the show zip along. And why is it so long - judicious cuts would be useful. Adam Cooper may be a good dancer but I found his acting forced and his voice tight. As for the rest, well they maymake an impact at Leicester but not when compared to mainstream London productions. - USER: Whatsonstage.com (195.157.225.98) | 04 Aug 04 |
