Synopsis

After a series of abusive relationships, Natasha has finally found the real thing with David. But when their families hear of the union, cultural tensions surface, which can no longer be ignored. A struggle between love and family ensues, exposing the hurts, fears and comic absurdities that underlie our judgements of others. In a climate of fear and paranoia over immigration and religious extremism in the UK, the fractious relationships within black communities are largely ignored. In his provocative new tale based on personal experience, Femi Oguns lifts the lid on a social taboo that affects swathes of UK communities.
