Synopsis

Fantasy novelist Bailey Howard and his flamboyant friend Cooper Fitzgerald are magically transported to the world of the In-Between. Their arrival fulfills the ancient prophecy that the oppressed land and its kidnapped Prince Haydn will be rescued by a conquering hero and a great queen. Setting off on their journey Bailey and Cooper encounter a host of curious characters, from the seductive Nymph Queen to a deranged theatrical troupe, the evil Languidere and a singing disembodied head.

Is there a market for adult fairy stories? Fans of Wicked would doubtless answer with a resounding yes. But it’s a question that’s posed anew at the King’s Head during the opening scenes of Ian McFarlane’s new musical Betwixt!, a fun-packed, cliché-ridden romp through a fairytale land of evil seductresses, betrothed princes, fairy nymphs and some very catchy little songs as well.

Bailey Howard is a writer who’s severely blocked. His follow-up to a best-selling first novel is currently an empty notebook, and his agent is arranging press conferences around the clock. Went expecting nothing as had not read any reviews and was greatly impressed. Extremely funny and I can fault any of the performers, all strong voiced and played their variety of characters very well. Definatly Recomend....
