Tony winner Peter & the Starcatcher heads to West End?Date: 13 July 2012 Peter and the Starcatcher, currently playing on Broadway, is heading for London, according to today’s Daily Mail. The play won five gongs at this year’s awards, for sound, lighting, costume and scenic design, as well as Best Featured Actor for Christian Borle. Based on the 2006 novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, it’s adapted for the stage by Jersey Boys book writer Rick Elice. The play provides a backstory for the character Peter Pan, and serves as a prequel to JM Barrie's Peter and Wendy. Peter and the Starcatcher is directed by Alex Timbers and Roger Rees, who – as we reported earlier today – will be treading the West End boards himself in September in his one-man show What You Will.
