Beckham puts brakes on Viva Forever casting show?

Date: 2 March 2012

The Daily Mail is reporting that Victoria Beckham - aka Posh Spice - has refused to get involved with a proposed TV casting show to find the stars of new musical Viva Forever.

According the paper, plans are afoot to launch a “nationwide search”, in the style of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s TV casting shows, to find the 'wannabe' stars of the Spice Girls musical, which is being produced by Mamma Mia!’s Judy Craymer.

The plan was for the five original band members to act as the judges, but Beckham apparently has concerns that signing up to the show will jeapordise her fashion career, so has put the brakes on.

A source told the Mail: “Mel B is desperate for this show to happen. All the other girls would consider it, but Victoria has made her feelings very clear. Other than attending the world premiere of the musical, she wants to focus on her fashion career.”

Viva Forever, which has a book by comedy legend Jennifer Saunders, is expected to hit the West End later this year.

Poor Vicky, you surely couldn't expect a WAG to be involved in anything tacky and tawdry. - Coral

I appreciate that Victoria has a fashion career but why would doing this talent judging jeopardise the fashion side. Surely it will give her more profile and also be fun to do and maybe she can laugh a bit instead of just pouting!!!. She also has to remember that it was being a Spice Girl that gave her fame and then when she became Mrs Beckham as then his profile was bigger than hers for sure. I do think people pick on her a lot and really i like her and really pleased that she has shown her true talent with the fashion side so good for her BUT come on POSH---have some fun and join the other girls and remind us why you were all such a top girl group!!! - Joe Spiteri

you would think that the tosh Vickay produces as a fashion "designer" would be enough to jeopardise her career.i cant wait see who is going to play Baby (Jane Hudson )Spice. the point about them was that none of them lived up to their name tags apart from ginger and sporty - beachie
