Stott & Posner Reunite for West End Vanya???

Date: 28 October 2011

Ken Stott will return to the West End to play the title role in Chekhov's Uncle Vanya next autumn, according to the Daily Mail. The production will reunite Stott with director Lindsay Posner, who directed him A View from the Bridge in the West End in 2009.

No dates have been confirmed for the production, but it's being produced by Nica Burns and Kim Poster and will run at a Nimax theatre - most likely the Apollo, current home of Jerusalem. Posner will use Christopher Hampton's 1970 adaptation of the play (we reported rumours two years ago that Alan Ayckbourn had been working on a new version of Chekhov's drama, to star Stott and Ralph Fiennes, but this project has failed to materialise).

Stott's previous West End credits include the UK premiere of Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage in 2008. He was also in the original West End cast of Reza’s Art, along with Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay, while his other stage credits include Heroes, Faith Healer, The Misanthrope, The Rose Tattoo and Death of a Salesman.
