Vegas Brings MIF Theatricality to TV Shopping???Date: 31 May 2011 Comedian-turned-actor Johnny Vegas returns to the Manchester International Festival (MIF) this summer with a new show entitled And Another Thing... at the Pavilion Theatre on Albert Square. The production, which features Vegas, Kevin Eldon and Emma Fryer as vendors on a home shopping channel, has teamed up with retailer Ideal World to present the production in 'Theatrivision' - portions of the performance will air live on the shopping channel. Vegas and Fryer will actually sell products to home viewers, with theatregoers seeing both sides of the characters – their off-air and live personas. “Pre-recording the selling section would be easier,” said Vegas, “but where’s the fun in that? It has to be live and we have to be really selling. It‘s risky, anything could go wrong - but when you see the show you‘ll understand why it can‘t be done any other way.”
MIF hosted Vegas’ darkly original Interiors in 2007, and the show enjoyed great success. The Festival is "delighted" to be collaborating with Vegas once again. “We trusted Johnny to create something dramatic, unexpected and totally unique,” states MIF Director Alex Poots, “he hasn‘t disappointed us.” And Another Thing... plays the Pavilion Theatre on Manchester's Albert Square from 11 to 17 July 2011.
