Only the Beginning for End of the Rainbow???

Date: 29 March 2011

Peter Quilter's critically acclaimed End of the Rainbow, which is currently playing an extended run at Trafalgar Studios starring Tracie Bennett, looks set to hit the road for a national tour following its current booking period, which runs to 21 May 2011. Bennett, who was nominated for Olivier and Whatsonstage.com Awards for her portrayal of Judy Garland during her final London performances, had previously hinted that the musical might embark on a tour, going on to say she hoped it would transfer to Broadway. A spokesperson for the show confirmed that End of the Rainbow was gearing up for a national tour, with the Theatre Royal, Norwich having started selling tickets for dates in September, however further touring dates and casting details have still to be confirmed. The production, which is directed by Terry Johnson, opened in Trafalgar Studios 1 on 22 November 2010 (previews from 15 November).
