Knightley Gets Orgasmic Thrills from Theatre???

Date: 3 February 2011

It seems that Keira Knightley is really enjoying her return to the West End stage in The Children's Hour (currently previewing at the Comedy Theatre before opening on 9 February). Speaking to Elle magazine recently, the 25-year-old actress said, when describing what it was like to act on stage: "Oh God, the only thing that's going through my head to describe it is, it's like sex with an orgasm at the end of it! Whereas film is like you have sex but you never get the orgasm. A lot of stopping and starting but... oh I wish I hadn't said that."

She went on to say that her return to the stage following 2009's The Misanthrope was largely to improve her craft. "I really noticed what I couldn't do and what I failed at," she said, "I'm just not interested in standing still. You go, 'OK, that was great and that bit was great - that's, um, great.' But if I'm not getting better, not learning, not changing, then what's the point of it? It must be boring for people to watch it if it's always the same... Not that I'm saying I made huge progress."
