Rumours are swirling that West End stars Oliver Thompsett (Wicked) and Laura Michelle Kelly (Mary Poppins) will play the leads in the forthcoming stage adaptation of Ghost, which premieres at the Manchester Opera House in March 2011 before transferring to the West End's Piccadilly theatre, where it opens on 19 July 2011(previews from 22 June).
Thompsett and Kelly - who has long been attached having taken part in early workshops - would play lovers Sam and Molly, the roles immortalised on the big screen by Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore (whether there'll be any clay involved remains to be seen!). As previously reported, former Olivier nominee Sharon D Clarke is thought to be confirmed to play Oda Mae Brown, the role which won an Oscar for Whoopi Goldberg.
