Will Royal Albert Hall Survive Madam Butterfly Flood???Date: 9 September 2010The Royal Albert Hall is set to be flooded during a forthcoming production - but fear not, it's intentional. The historic London venue will have its auditorium transformed into a Japanese water garden for a staging of Puccini's opera Madam Butterfly next year. The production, which premiered at the Albert Hall in 1998 and has since toured the world, is directed by David Freeman and features a spectacular set designed by David Rogers, the centrepiece of which is Madam Butterfly's house, perched on stilts above the water. Madam Butterfly's new limited season runs from 24 February to 12 March 2011. Related Content
