Michael Ball Falls for Chichester Love Story??? Date: 16 July 2010
With a forthcoming TV chatshow and a national tour of Hairspray to think about, you would think Michael Ball had got enough on his plate. But according to the Daily Mail, the multi-award winning musical theatre star is on the brink of making his producing debut. The project in question is the West End transfer of Love Story, the Chichester Festival Theatre production inspired by Erich Segal's best-selling weepie novel and subsequent 1970 film.
Ball, who is thought to be investing around £250,000, is teaming up with producers Adam Spiegel and Stephen Waley-Cohen to bring it to the West End in November (venue tbc). "It's a gamble, it is a risk, but I wanted to have a go. I'm not going to have to sell my house if it goes wrong" Ball told the Mail's Baz Bamigboye.
Saw this lovely show in Chichester I laughed and cried buckets in equal measures. I hope it's a continued success for everyone involved. - Marie

Im sure it will be fine. Anything Michael Ball touches turns to gold. The insight he has to music will forever prevent him from making any mistakes. What a wonderful voice. - Belinda
