Dominic West Back on Stage in Simon Gray’s Butley??? Date: 21 June 2010
Dominic West, best known to TV fans from The Wire, seems to have got the theatre bug again after his recent stint in Life Is a Dream at the Donmar Warehouse. Our chief critic and blogger Michael Coveney hears that West will be heading back to the stage in a new revival of Simon Gray’s Butley, directed by Lindsay Posner. The 1971 play centres on a professor trying to cope with the strains of divorce and academia. Since Simon Gray’s death from cancer in 2008, there’s been a renaissance of his work, including the Donmar’s current production of Gray’s The Late Middle Classes starring Helen McCrory.
