Shaw's Candida Set for West End Revival???Date: 30 December 2009According to sources, Ian Fricker is set to produce George Bernard Shaw’s Candida in London next year. Peter Hall is rumoured to be directing, taking the show first to the Rose Theatre in Kingston and then to the West End in the summer. One of Shaw’s “Plays Pleasant” (which also included Arms and the Man), in Candida, the Reverend James Morrell has the perfect wife, the perfect family and the perfect home. But when a young poet falls passionately in love with his beautiful Candida, Morrell’s idealistic world is turned upside down.
