Busted's Bourne Identifies West End Ambitions???Date: 6 November 2009
According to singer-songwriter James Bourne’s Twitter account, his musical Loserville, which premiered regionally earlier this year, is set to hit the West End.
Penned by Bourne and Elliot Davies, the musical focuses on 17 year-old Michael Dork. Socially marginalised by the entire school and constantly picked on by Eddie, the coolest boy in class, Michael is desperate to find his ticket out of Loserville. But when the gorgeous new girl Holly arrives, Michael is introduced to a whole new world of cool.
Bourne is best known for being part of the bands Busted and Son of Dork, and has penned hit singles for other artists including McFly and Boyzone. His Twitter update reads: "after months of negotiations I finally signed the deal to take Loserville to the West End!" - though no venue is specified.
Loserville premiered in August at the South Hill Parks Art Centre in Bracknell and could be looking at a run in the West End within the next six months.
