Is Hollywood Going Movie Musical Crazy???Date: 26 October 2009After years of rumours, it appears that the Les Miserables movie adaptation could finally be set to happen, with production company Working Title signed up to make the film. Mackintosh seems to have been bitten by the Hollywood bug, with Miss Saigon also rumoured to be making its way to the silver screen. IMDB.com indicates the legendary theatre producer has teamed up with Monster's Ball director Lee Daniels on the project, and that the pair are hoping for a 2011 release; squeezing it in somewhere between My Fair Lady and Les Miserables. And elsewhere, Tony Award-winning show Rock of Ages has already taken Broadway by storm, but could now be set to conquer Hollywood. Rumours indicate that Adam Shankman, the man behind the Hairspray movie, will be directing and choreographing. This will hopefully hit cinemas by 2011; perfect timing if rumours of Rock of Ages transferring to London next year prove to be true (See Goss 3 September 2009). - by Rowena Betts - Theatregoer Reporter Got some goss?
