Beyoncé to Show Sisterhood in Movie Remake???Date: 6 July 2009According to the Daily Mail, singer and actress Beyoncé Knowles was so taken with Sister Act on her recent visit to the Palladium that she's desperate to play the role of Deloris Van Cartier – in a movie version of the musical. Apparently her management are currently in talks with Disney to put the show on the big screen; with rumours already appearing that Meryl Streep would take on the role of Mother Superior. The show opens on Broadway in October of next year; and the film would ideally start filming shortly after this. The original film has become a classic in recent years and one can't help but wonder how a remake – even if it was of the musical – would be received. Earlier in the year Beyoncé expressed how starring in a Broadway show would be her dream job; but it would now seem that she's taking matters into her own hands.
