My One & Only in West End Transfer???Date: 3 August 2001 A West End transfer could be on the cards for the Gershwin musical My One and Only, currently running at Chichester's Festival Theatre. A hit for three years on Broadway, the show is currently making its UK debut, starring Olivier Award winners Janie Dee and Tim Flavin. The musical was based around the 1927 show Funny Face and features an array of song and dance pieces that were originally written and choreographed for Fred and Adele Astaire. The story concerns a daredevil aviator who attempts to become the first pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic, and contains such number as 'S Wonderful, Strike Up the Band and the title track. My One and Only is directed by the CFT's Associate Director Loveday Ingram, whose recent works at the venue include The Blue Room (which transferred to the Theatre Royal, Haymarket) and the musical Pal Joey.
