Comedians Revived for West End Run???Date: 16 July 2001Comedians, the popular 1970s play by Trevor Griffiths, is being readied for a revival and anticipated West End transfer. Rehearsals begin shortly for an October opening in Exeter followed by a brief regional tour. The Oxford Stage production, directed by Sean Holmes, is aiming for a West End arrival before the end of the year. Griffiths' drama origionally premiered in February 1975 at the Nottingham Playhouse in a production directed by Richard Eyre. Casting for the new production is not yet complete, though actor-comedian brothers John and Martin Marquez are tipped to play character-brothers Ged and Phil Murray. Related Content |
