A Little More of Denise in Chicago???Date: 4 July 2001 TV presenter Denise Van Outen's widely advertised 16-week season as Roxie Hart in the hit musical Chicago may not be so "strictly limited" after all. Although posters and show representatives insist she will be coming off on Friday 4 August as billed, there is reason to wonder. In a recent interview, former Yazoo singer Alison Moyet - who, it was announced last week, will join the cast as Mama Morton - said she was looking forward to performing alongside Van Outen. "It will be great working with Denise," she told the Express newspaper. "As a fellow Basildon girl, it will be like the Essex mafia." But how is such a partnership possible if Van Outen leaves on 4 August and Moyet doesn't start until 13 August? If Denise does stay on, it will be no bad thing for Chicago and the Adelphi Theatre, where she has received excellent reviews in what is seen as a career comeback move. However, theatre fans who've shelled out to see the show again on Van Outen's "last night" in August may be understandably annoyed.
