John Altman Set for Chicago Tour???

John Altman seems certain to play the role of Billy Flynn when the national tour of Chicago gets under way later this year. Altman, recognisable as EastEnders bad boy Nick Cotton, is also a singer with a rock band and has acted in such films as Quadrophenia and Birth of the Beatles. Last year he toured with Kid Creole in the disco show Oh What a Night. None of the female leads have been confirmed as yet, although speculations have included Claire Sweeney, and Jane Fowler who's currently the Roxie cover in the West End Chicago. As for rumours regarding Gail Porter's involvement, one regional press officer told us, "You'd have thought if that really was the case then they'd have said something about it by now."
