Chitty Prompts Domino Moves amongst Musicals???

The RSC musical adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has been circling the West End for months it seems. The rights to the story are owned by the family of "Cubby" Broccoli, who produced the 1968 film written by Ian Fleming of James Bond fame. Daughter Barbara Broccoli, who herself produced the recent West End musical La Cava , is spearheading the project. Rumour is that RSC artistic director Adrian Noble will direct, Anthony Ward will design and Julie Alanah Brighten (who appeared in La Cava) will star. The latest speculation has the musical arriving at the Palladium in November in time for the Christmas season. The King and I, currently at the Palladium, is said to be considering a move to the smaller Cambridge Theatre, where Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Beautiful Game is believed to be struggling.
