Barrowman in Barnum Revival, Late 2009???
Date: 15 February 2008
The Daily Mail reported today that
John Barrowman, star of
Anything Goes and the BBC’S
Torchwood, is in discussions with producer
Cameron Mackintosh to play the title role in a revival of the hit Broadway musical,
Barnum, which first premiered in the West End at the London Palladium in 1981. Other names rumoured to be attached to the production, planned for late 2009, currently include choreographer
Rob Ashford and original writer
Mark Bramble, who’s been asked to “beef up” the show’s plot. Following in the footsteps of Michael Crawford, Barrowman would have to sort his schedule out before accepting the role in
Barnum as he’s got a concert tour, a BBC show and more
Torchwood filming all lined up for this year! He’s a guy in huge demand…
