African-American Trilogy Planned at Young Vic???Date: 12 November 2007 If tomorrow’s opening of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brothers Size at the Young Vic goes well, theatregoers can look forward to at least two more instalments from the young African-American playwright. As McCraney confirms in an interview with Whatsonstage.com (See Today’s 20 Questions), the theatre has optioned McCraney’s next two plays in - In the Red and Brown Water, and Marcus; and the Secret of Sweet - which, The Brothers Size, comprise his Brother/Sister trilogy. Transplanting a Yoruba myth into the soil of Louisiana, The Brothers Size tells the story of two brothers: Ogun owns an auto-repair shop, Oshooshi has just left prison and is already back on the wrong track. It runs at the Young Vic until 8 December 2007. No dates have yet been set for the other plays.
