Black Watch Booking Opens & Rave Reviews in NY???Date: 29 October 2007Booking opened for the long-awaited National Theatre of Scotland hit, Black Watch, at the Barbican last week on 26 October, after the production in New York received excellent notices from the city’s press. The New York Observer called it “the most compelling theatre pieces you could wish to see” whilst the pivotal New York Times review hailed it as “a cause of hope after a surfeit of microwaved revivals and ersatz musicals.” A sell-out hit at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Black Watch receives its long-awaited London transfer next summer, running at the Barbican Centre from 20 June to 26 July 2008 as part of BITE 08 (Barbican International Theatre Events), with the 1,160-seat main auditorium specifically reconfigured to accommodate it. Tickets are going to go like hot cakes, and the reviews from the other side of the pond can only boost ticket sales – so get ‘em while you can! Related Content |
