Jude Law Ready for Critics’ Slings & Arrows????Date: 16 October 2007Never mind possible comparisons with David Tennant, whose Royal Shakespeare Company production of Hamlet opens in Stratford next summer, fellow thespian Jude Law is already prepared for a mauling at the hands of the critics for his own go at the prince of Denmark as part of the Donmar Warehouse’s 2009 West End residency (See News, 10 Sep 2007). “I've had so much mud and s**t thrown at me I'm bulletproof, seriously,” Law said in a recent interview. “I can already tell you about the reviews and they'll be awful. But, when it comes to reviews, there's no reason to be scared of bad reviews. I've had pretty awful reviews, so that does not stop me from taking on a wonderful part.” He added that the opportunity to be directed by Kenneth Branagh in the role was a major deciding factor. "I will undoubtedly experience and learn and I hope expand and step up to the mark and that to me is an unmissable opportunity and it's a brilliant role in a brilliant play.” Related Content |
