Beautiful Brosnan Attracted to Ugly One???Date: 28 September 2007Pierce Brosnan paid a surprise visit to the Royal Court last night, although not for the opening of artistic director Dominic Cooke’s revival of Ionesco’s Rhinoceros in the main house Downstairs (See Today’s 1st Night Photos). The handsome former 007, accompanied by his wife and mother, was in the Upstairs studio for the 60-minute evening performance of The Ugly One. German author Marius von Mayenburg’s play revolves around an ugly man who learns, after extensive plastic surgery, that there is such a thing as too beautiful. (We trust that Brosnan has never suffered so?) Our Royal Court mole tells us Brosnan loved the play, hanging around to compliment the cast – including Amanda Drew, Michael Gould and Frank McCusker – in the theatre bar after the performance. He exited just before the herd of the Rhinoceros’ first-nighters stampeded the place after their two-and-a-half hour show. Related Content |
