Les Mis Still Fit After 9,000th Show???Date: 7 August 2007 The world’s longest running musical Les Miserables will celebrate its 9,000th performance in London at the West End’s Queen’s Theatre this Friday 10 August 2007. Having opened at the Barbican in October 1985, the London production is in its 21st year and has moved twice, to the Palace Theatre in December 1985 and then to the Queen’s in April 2004 where it’s currently booking until December. A revival is also playing on Broadway, the first since the production there closed in 2003. Les Miserables, by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, is based on the novel by Victor Hugo and has been seen by over 55 million people worldwide in 38 countries. It has also been translated in to an astounding 21 languages resulting in 33 cast recordings!
