Billie Piper Sets Sights on Royal Court???
Date: 6 March 2007
Billie Piper makes her – slightly delayed – West End debut this Thursday in Christopher Hampton’s Treats at the Garrick Theatre (See News, 23 Feb 2007). The production marks her first time on stage professionally, but it’s unlikely to be her last – though, if the actress gets her way, the next time won’t be in the West End. In an interview in the March issue of our sister title, What’s On Stage Magazine, out now in participating theatres, Piper says: “I would like to do more theatre, especially at the Royal Court. I’d like to do some young writer’s stuff because I find it really inspiring that young kids have these thoughts in their heads and then put them on paper and turn them into beautiful plays. I’ve seen loads of stuff at the Court, and it blows my mind every time.”
