Olivier-Smash Sunday Makes Great White Way???

Following its sweep at the Olivier awards this past Sunday (See News, 18 Feb 2007), the Menier Chocolate Factory production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine�s Sunday in the Park with George will open on Broadway in January 2008. The musical - which won Outstanding Musical Production, Best Actor and Actress in a Musical (Daniel Evans and Jenna Russell), Best Lighting Design (Natasha Chivers and Mike Robertson) and Best Design (David Farley and Timothy Bird - will open at New York�s Studio 54 on 14 February 2008 (previews from 18 January), presented by Roundabout Theatre Company and co-produced by Boyett Ostar and the Menier�s artistic director, David Babani. No casting has yet been announced for the production. Sunday in the Park with George originally opened at Broadway's Booth Theatre on 2 May, 1984, where it ran for 540 performances.
