Donmar Hosts New Musicals Workshop???Date: 13 December 2006Two new musicals by John Farndon - Dreamweaver and Anya - are being showcased at the Donmar Warehouse on Friday lunchtime (15 December 2006) featuring a cast of West End regulars including Eliza Lumley (Mary Poppins), Graham Bickley (Ragtime), Mike Scott, Michael Harbour, Rochelle Roberts, Anna Blake, Richard Naxton and Laura Armstrong, leading a cast of 40 alongside a 15-strong choir. Dreamweaver, which Farndon co-wrote with Bernard Reilly), is the story of a young theatre group in present day Ireland staging a version of Orpheus in the Underworld, while Anya is based on the true story of a blighted love affair set in Stalin’s Russia and in America. The showcase is directed by Janey Clarke with musical direction by Warren Wills. Farndon’s other musicals include In Love and War and The Fifth Duchess with Howard Ginsberg. His play High Risk Zone was seen in the National Student Drama Festival at the Almeida in 1995. Related Content |
