Love's Labour's Lost for Bristol Tobacco???Date: 28 March 2006 Acclaimed Bristol-based theatre company Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory could be facing closure, the company's artistic director has revealed. Dan Hilton blamed a poor turnout for the recent production of Titus Andronicus for the threat and called for sponsors to come forward. He said: "The severe financial loss we have suffered means Love's Labour's Lost may have to be our last production." Love's Labour's Lost, currently running until 29 April 2006, is the twelfth Shakespearean production by the Tobacco Factory, which first opened at the converted Wills tobacco warehouse in 2000. Since then the company, reliant on a combination of box office receipts and donations to fund its work, has built a national reputation and in 2004 transferred its productions of The Changeling and Macbeth to the Barbican. Anyone wanting to pledge financial support should contact Sophie Jerrold on 0117 963 3054.
