Dirty Dancing Hits West End in October???Date: 21 February 2006 Last week, the stage musical adaptation of Footloose confirmed its West End berth (See News, 16 Feb 2006); next week, it'll be the turn of another seminal Eighties flick, Dirty Dancing (See The Goss, 26 Jan 2001), for which a launch event is being held on Monday (27 February 2006). Set at an upmarket American holiday camp in the 1960s, the 1987 film starred Jennifer Grey as the teenaged Baby who falls in love with the camp's working class dance instructor, played by Patrick Swayze. In addition to Sixties pop classics, the Dirty Dancing soundtrack included the chart-topping single "The Time of Your Life". The new screen-to-stager is due to receive its West End premiere in October.
