Who’s Next for Royal Readings Line-up???

More stars have been announced for the line-up in the Royal Court’s ten-week season of rehearsed readings as part of the venue’s year-long 50th anniversary celebrations (See
The Goss 26 Jan 2006).
50 Readings, 50 Writers, 50 Years features some of the most famous plays from the theatre’s history. It kicked off in mid-January with
John Osborne’s 1957 classic
The Entertainer starring
Robert Lindsay, and continued last week with
Julie Walters in Joe Orton’s 1967 double bill of
The Ruffian on the Stair and
The Erpingham Camp,
Matthew Macfadyen and
Ben Whishaw in 1968’s
Total Eclipse by Christopher Hampton,
Neil Morrissey in David Storey’s 1969 play
In Celebration and
Helen McCrory in Peter Gill’s
Over Gardens Out. Tonight (Monday 6 February 2006), Whishaw returns to join
Amanda Drew and
Denise Black Donald Howarth’s
Three Months Gone. in Further ahead,
Jane Horrocks headlines Jim Cartwright’s
Road on Thursday 2 March. The readings, held in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs, continue until 24 March 2005, when the season concludes with Conor McPherson’s 2004 drama
Shining City.
